3D Quality Control
Training: Geomagic Control X
Geomagic Control X is the world’s most powerful metrology software, enabling precise and rapid comparison of a scanned object with its digital reference model (CAD). Our training will teach you how to effectively leverage its potential to optimize your quality control processes.
Comprehensive training (3 days/ 24 hours)
Who is it for?
This course is ideal for engineers and technicians in quality control departments, metrologists, and anyone starting their journey with 3D measurements. It is also designed for experienced users who want to fully automate their inspection processes and explore the software’s specialized modules.
Training Goal:
The goal is to provide comprehensive preparation for working with the software – from independently performing a full quality control process and advanced GD&T analysis to fully automating inspection workflows and using specialized analytical tools.
Detailed Training Program:
Day 1: Introduction, Inspection, and Basic Analysis
- Interface and Data Preparation: Overview of the interface, navigation, and settings customization. Importing measurement data (3D scan) and reference data (CAD model). Inspecting and editing the triangle mesh.
- Alignment (Registration): Discussion and practical exercises on key alignment methods, including: Initial, Best-Fit, RPS, and 3-2-1 Coordinate System-based alignment.
- Live Inspect: Introduction to the Live Inspect tool for quick measurements.
- 3D Analysis: Creating, editing, and interpreting color deviation maps. Analyzing deviation vectors.
- 2D Analysis: Comparing and dimensioning cross-sections (including Bounding Box). Analyzing edge deviations.
- Comparison Points: Creating and analyzing comparison points on the model's surface.
Day 2: Advanced Dimensioning, GD&T, and Reporting
- Smart Dimensioning: Automatic and manual creation of linear, angular, radial, and coordinate dimensions.
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T): Practical application and interpretation of form, orientation, location, and profile tolerances.
- Specialized Analyses: Wall Thickness analysis and Flush & Gap analysis.
- Automation and Reporting: Using the history tree to automate inspections. Generating and advanced customization of clear PDF measurement reports.
Day 3: Automation and Specialized Modules
- Full Process Automation: Simulating and replaying inspections. Using the Automation Rule Editor to create intelligent processes. Batch Processing for automatic inspection of multiple parts.
- Specialized Inspection Modules: Sheet Metal inspection and Airfoil analysis.
- Advanced Tools and Scripts: Creating reference geometry. Introduction to automation using Python scripts to create custom macros and non-standard tasks.
Reverse Engineering
Training: Geomagic Design X
Geomagic Design X is the gold standard in reverse engineering software, enabling the conversion of 3D scan data into parametric, fully editable CAD models.
Who is it for?
This training is designed for engineers, designers, and constructors who want to master the process of recreating technical documentation from physical objects.
Training Goal:
To acquire the skills to independently process 3D scanner data to create a high-quality CAD model, ready for further editing, simulation, or manufacturing.
Training Program:
- Introduction to the Design X interface and workflow logic.
- Importing and advanced editing of triangle meshes (Healing Wizard tools).
- Aligning data to the coordinate system.
- Solid and surface modeling based on the mesh.
- Creating 2D sketches and extruding geometry.
- Accuracy analysis to compare the CAD model with the scan data.
- Live Transfer: Transferring the parametric history to CAD systems (e.g., SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, Siemens NX).
- Practical exercises on parts with varying levels of complexity.
